Hoax

It was Spring Equinox and I was thinking of bunnies and painting hard-boiled eggs and budding trees and the ancient Middle-Eastern spring goddess Ishtar from which the word Easter is derived. Ishtar means ‘star’, and so I thought of stars, billions of stars, and then I thought of the deep golden eyes of Epo-Na.

The dream dreaming us

It was early morning and I was thinking about the word ‘hoax’. It seemed such a strange word to use. And then, out of nowhere, came a memory of more than twenty years ago when I read Laurence van der Posts story about the Bushmen. One day he had a philosophical conversation with one of them, asking what the Bushmen thought about life. The answer was: ‘There is a dream dreaming us’.
